RUNA TUPARI
an organization representing the rural and indigenous people in the canton of Cotacachi) is an intercultural organization that represents 44 indigenous as well as mestizo and Afro-Ecuadorian rural communities. The objective of the organization is to improve living conditions of its members through development projects and programs such as agro-ecological production, reforestation, environmental conservancy, legal assessment, indigenous healthcare, intercultural bilingual education, cultural revival and rural tourism.
Runa Tupari offers accommodation in rural lodges located in the indigenous communities where you will enjoy the tranquility of the country, the hospitality of your host family and the cultural authenticity of the region.
The lodges are located in four different communities spread in the foothills of the Cotacachi Volcano. The lodges consist of one bedroom with a fireplace, bathroom, hot shower, and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The furnishings are simple and comfortable with single and/or double beds. You will enjoy traditional meals prepared with ancestral crops freshly harvested from the adjacent fields. Each lodge can house up to three adult visitors.
