MARKET VISIT & CITY TOUR: *Explore the day to day activities of the Ecuadorian Merchants at the Food and Fruits Wholesale Market (Mercado Santa Clara,Inaquito), then visit and shop at a traditional market of the City. Continue the day with our UIO 101 program.

OTAVALO INDIAN MARKET: The most important indigenous market of the country because of the variety of textiles and products: tapestries, sweaters, hats, handicrafts, silver jewelry, antiques and much more. After that you could have lunch in a typical hacienda and visit Cotacachi a famous town for its leather goods and panoramic view of Cuicocha Lake.

UIO 204 COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK: Excursion to the Cotopaxi Volcano National Park. Walk around Limpiopungo Lake found at the base of the mountain. Then ride up to the Refuge Hut car park at 4600 m. Possibility to hike to the refuge at 4800 m and the glacier.

UIO 205 MINDO CLOUD FOREST: located on the western flanks of Pichincha volcano, this is a paradise for bird-watchers, with dozens of species to be been seen in this valley. Possibility to visit the Butterfly Farm, walk to the waterfall or tubing on the local river.

UIO 302 CHIVA PARTY: Night tour of the colonial quarter of Quito in a typical Chiva. Stop at the Independence Square and from then to a Pub or Bar for an special evening party.

UIO 401 OTAVALO & SURROUNDINGS: Opportunity to see the most extraordinary sceneries, landscapes, food and a magic of the indigenous towns:

Start the tour visiting the valleys of Guayllabamba and Cayambe, with their dairy farms and rose plantations. Arrive at lunchtime at one of the charming country inns or colonial haciendas. Visit the town dedicated to selling fine leather products, and the town of Peguche where textiles are woven in old-fashioned shuttle looms. In the very late afternoon arrive at Polyllepis, a natural reserve of the highlands. Optional walk at night with torches inside the rainforest. Overnight Polillepys Lodge.

An explanation about the biodiversity of Páramo and everything which is related to protection and preservation of the environment.

A horse ride in Frailejones. One of the unique ecosystems of the world, this will be lead by native guides and with typical customs of the highlands.

After lunch visit the Market of Otavalo, piled with ponchos, woolen goods, tapestries, the original Panama hat, sweaters, Indian jewelry and many handicrafts. Return to Quito. Arrive at the city at approximately 19:00 Pm.

UIO 403 BAÑOS THERMAL SPRINGS: Drive along the volcanoes avenue to the little village of Baños, with a stop at the Salasacas indigenous community. Visit the city and the surroundings. Next day excursion along the waterfalls avenue up to the little village of Rio Verde. Stop at Pailon del Diablo and Machay waterfalls (Optional bike riding).
