AET 004 ANDES AND JUNGLE ADVENTURE
Day 1-2 : Quito -Otavalo-Quito.- North to Otavalo, a unique Indian market town where we visit the local sights and the Saturday morning market which is famous for its weavings. We return to Quito again for one more night.
Day 3-5 : Misahualli – Amazon Jungle. We descend to the humid Amazon Basin to Misahualli and travel by motorized canoe down river. On foot, led by our local guide, we learn about the unique plants and wildlife found in this fascinating region.
Day 6-8 : Baños-Ingapirca. Back into the Andes to Baños with its thermal springs and numerous walks in the surroundings hills. Options include horse riding and mountain biking. By bus to Ingapirca, the country’s most important Inca ruins, where ancient peoples once worshipped the sun and moon.
Day 9-11: Cuenca-Quito. To Cuenca, a beautiful colonial city and home of the Panama hat. A short flight back to Quito for a free afternoon exploring the old and new parts of the city.
NOTE: This tour will have the following transportation: local buses, motorized & dug-out canoe, on foot, 1 flight, and taxi.
