HAKUNA MATATA LODGE

At only 10 km from Tena, capital of the absolutely safe Napo Province, this private hacienda of approximately 150 ha is the perfect place to enjoy to the fullest a never-ending series of activities, which this area lends itself to more than any other.
Hakuna Matata lies on the shores of the crystal-clear Inchillaqui River, at an altitude between 1968 and 2789 feet, which makes it free of all tropical diseases

Hakuna Matata works together with the organizer of the rafting world championship, held in Ecuador in October 2005, for both rafting and kayaking. Anzu River, Jatunyacu River (upper Napo), Misahualli River and Hollin River: adrenaline between class 2 and 4+… organized in compliance with all international safety regulations!

Our specialized guides organize an unforgettable canyoning trip - and - for a unique ULM flight over the Amazon, we chose no less a person than the pilot of the world-famous Ecuador air photographer Anzheimer. Safety and quality above all!

With your own transportation:
Coming from Quito/Baeza/Archidona: Follow the "Vía a Tena" for 1.3 km (after you leave Archidona) until the PS gas station. Turn right immediately after the metal bridge over the Misahualli River. Follow the signs for 3.9 km (Vía Chaupi Shungo).
Coming from Riobamba/Ambato/Baños/Puyo/Tena: Follow the "Vía a Archidona" for 7 km (after you leave Tena). Turn left immediately before the metal bridge over the Misahyalli River. Follow the signs for about 3.9 km (Vía Chaupi Shungo).

With public transportation:
Several buses leave Quito daily for Tena. Get off in Archidona (before Tena!). The trip takes approximately 5 hours, so choose a bus that leaves in the morning. In Archidona you should take a taxi that brings you for 5 USD in 15 minutes to Hakuna Matata.
Several buses leave Riobamba/Ambato/Baños daily for Tena. The trip takes approximately 4 hours from Baños, so choose a bus that leaves in the morning. In Tena you should take a taxi that brings you for 8 USD in 30 minutes to Hakuna Matata.
By plane:
There are 3 direct flights a week from Quito (VIP company, with a Beechcraft). They leave Monday and Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon. You pay 60 USD per person and it takes 25 minutes to fly to Tena. A taxi brings you to Hakuna Matata for 8 USD in 25 minutes

14 people in 6 cabañas:
1double (one double bed), 4 doubles (two single beds),

Hakuna Lodge (more spacious):
8 people in 3 rooms: 1 double (one double bed), 1 double (two single beds) and one quadruple (four single beds).

Hakuna Supreme (even more spacious and more luxurious):
10 people in 5 rooms: 1 double with two single beds, and 4 double with one double bed

Single rooms
The prices are based on 2 people per room. Depending on the occupancy, for single rooms, a 17.50 USD additional fare in the Cabañas, a 20 USD additional fare in the Lodge or a 22.50 USD additional fare in Supreme may be charged.

Prices for children
Until 4 years old: free.
Between 4 and 8 years old: 50% of the adult price.
8 years and up: adult price

Meals
All ingredients are impeccable and top-quality.
Side-dishes are not charged in most cases.

Breakfast is composed of home-made whole-wheat bread or rolls, juice, coffee/ tea/chocolate milk, eggs, cheese, home-made jam, butter.
The lunch in Pangaea Restaurant is usually composed of fresh soup and varied salad specialties with home-made whole-wheat bread.
Price: 10 USD.
Dinner in Pangaea Restaurant is composed of a three course menu.
A cold or hot first course, a main dish and a dessert.
Price: 18 USD.
